KUPANG, NTTZOOM-President Jokowi welcomes the digital-based Public Service plan as a form of making public service transformation easier. Especially in the conditions of Covid-19, digital bureaucratic services are a solution and a necessity.
This was stated by President Jokowi on the sidelines of the President's working visit to East Nusa Tenggara Province, Thursday (14/10).
The Covid-19 pandemic should not disrupt public services. As a form of public service innovation, the Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is serious about developing digital-based public services to facilitate services to the community.
After the signing of the MOU between the NTT Provincial Government and the Indonesian Government Digital as a digital platform provider on Friday (8/10) in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, introduced the plan to digitize NTT public services to President Jokowi.
This is an effort by the government to fulfill the people's right to get easy services. This digital service, which will take the form of a mobile phone application, is present as an effort to accelerate digital transformation in the government environment by modernizing public services.
“This application will be an instrument for the progress of NTT. We are adapting by adopting safe and comprehensive digital technology,” said Governor Victor.
The application, which is planned to be launched in stages with the name of the application using the regional language, is part of the e-government concept. This service adopts secure information technology with the aim of making it easier for the public. What makes it more special compared to applications that have been launched in other provinces and cities/districts is the certainty and security feature of user identity.
Behind this application there is an identity verification feature based on artificial intelligence. This is useful for ascertaining whether the user is really a citizen who uses an Identity Card registered in the Province or not. After confirming the user, this application digitizes the national identity card with certified security so that it can be used to access public services safely and easily.
In their daily needs, residents can use this application to buy credit, pay for electricity, and pay taxes. Even to support the tourism sector, both domestic and foreign tourists who have verified their identity cards or registered their passports and can order plane tickets, hotels, rent cars, choose tour packages or buy tickets for tourism destinations in the NTT province.
Putra Negara Suryadi as the Digital Director of the Indonesian Government, added that with this pandemic condition, the government both at the center and in the regions should have adapted to technological advances.
"We are faced with a pandemic. We must be prepared with digital public service innovations. Therefore, our bureaucratic services must be digitally based," he said.(abm/cd3/nz)
